1991 mercedes-benz G-class gets restored into a windowless, all-terrain truck

Expedition Motor Company restores 1991 Mercedes-Benz Class-G

Over 40 years since it was first released, the Expedition Motor Company restores the 1991 Mercedes-Benz G-Class 250GD Wolf into an open-air, roofless, and all-terrain adventure vehicle. The restoration company mentions that a limited quantity of these 250GD G-Wagen trucks were built for military use and produced in the early ’90s but only lasted for around three years. This time around, the model returns, breathing new life into it with a strip-down and media blasting on the truck’s frame, anti-corrosive primer, and a new powder coat.

Reviving 250GD Wolf into all-terrain vehicle

The restored 1991 Mercedes-Benz G-Class 250GD Wolf comes with new fuel, brake lines, and body mounts. Expedition Motor Company dismantled its factory axles to replace them with cleaned and finished ones with new internals. Even the brake calipers, or the cases of the brake pads, were reinforced with replacement rotors and drums. The restoration company developed a suspension specially fitted for the restored 1991 Mercedes-Benz G-Class 250GD Wolf, and it now features a 2.5L inline-five diesel engine, cleaned and rebuilt with new pistons, seals, timing belt, water pump, and other components.

2,100 hours to restore 1991 Mercedes-Benz G-Class 250GD Wolf

It took the Expedition Motor Company around 2,100 hours to fully restore the 1991 Mercedes-Benz G-Class 250GD Wolf by hand. The all-terrain truck gleams in daylight and sunset with its Racing Green coating, complementing its mushroom-colored interior for the seats and benches. ‘The EMC Wolf features military durability and iconic design, but the best part is that these trucks are so versatile. An EMC truck can go anywhere and handle just about any terrain with ease. These trucks can serve as the ultimate beach cruiser while also being fully capable of traversing a winding mountain road without hesitation,’ says Alex Levin, the founder of the Expedition Motor Company.

The Expedition Motor Company states that they currently own the largest stock of Mercedes-Benz G-Class trucks in the world. They don’t let these vehicles catch dust and rust. They have a concrete plan at hand, and that’s to restore these 1991 Mercedes-Benz G-Class 250GD Wolf trucks into two-door, convertible vehicles that can be driven through all kinds of terrain and powered by the original five-cylinder diesel engine. ‘We fully understand that the driving experience of an EMC Wolf is not for everyone,’ says Alex Levin. ‘But for those chasing the authentically rugged experience of driving a go-anywhere, do-anything type of truck, we can provide that without question.’
